The US Census Bureau claims there is only 120,000 liberals.

Statistically most people are moderate pro labor. But America doesn't have a labor party so the bulk of the citizens are stuck voting for people that only have a 28% aproval rating.

Should RedsStater activist call the people they disagree with Americans??? They could call themselves Reds.

same reason some people (or one in particular) call conservatives redstaters when not all republicans or conservatives live in red states. generalizing is easier than trying to cover every base in every statement. funny the ones that complain about it are the ones that do it the most..

If your view is the opposite of a conservative, it is a liberal view.

If your view is the opposite of a liberal, it is a conservative view.

If your view is somewhere in the middle you either lean one way or the other.

I don't know where the Census Bureau got it's numbers from. As someone who has participated in the National Census many times, I have never even been asked if I was a liberal or what my political leaning is.

Statistics always say that most people are moderate. That is because most people are not paying attention or have no opinion one way or the other. What matters is who actually shows up to vote on election day. Moderates never turn out much.

There is no labor party because this is not a socialist nation.

Approval ratings can be very deceptive. For instance: People who are very much against the war disapprove of the president. People who are very much for going all out and winning quickly and decisively also disapprove of the president. The fact that they agree that they don't like how the president has handled the war isn't any indication that they agree on how to end it. Only those people that are against the war and willing to loose to end it would vote for an anti-war candidate. The 28% that still support the president and the pro victory people will vote for someone who will win it.

Whoa know, there... I wouldn't do anything lke that, and I think that you're getting some faulty facts there, son. I'd love to see these statistics you're talking about, even if I find most statistics aren't worth the paper they're printed on, and all. I agree that it's bizarre we don't have a labor party... I'd love to be recognized for the work I do. But on that note...

There is nothing wrong with being a red stater. I view the two parties of this country like medicines that have two differeing variations of the same ingredients, and those ingredients only: Sugar and Oil. Republicans claim they're gonna show help to the farmer, hunter, and factory worker, but they don't give a care. Democrats claim they are gonna help everyone, but I've never seen farm subsidaries, shorter working weeks, or safer conditions come reliably out of a Democrat's pocket.

Heh, maybe I will call myself a Red, though. It'd shake people up now, wouldn't it..? At that, Red used to mean something else, and all, ya know. Anyhow, don't expect me to call you a 'liberal' just because I disagree with you. I don't generally like judging people, and all. But just my two cents.

My heavens, I never have been flashed, yet I did accidentally flash some persons as quickly as. i replaced into interior the scientific institution a while back and desperate to take a stoll to the merchandising section. properly, I wasn't thinking approximately what i replaced into donning and, permit's in simple terms say that those scientific institution robes do no longer go away plenty to the mind's eye on the backside. The nurse got here up from in the back of me and positioned a blanket over my shoulders . . . i replaced into thinking why it replaced right into slightly drafty back there!

Actually the term red state came from the media not the people that live there.

If they have conservative views and some one disagrees with them what are they suppose to call them?

Purple staters, on the fencers, or half and half's?

What do people from blue states call people who disagree with them? Conservatives

If you think the term liberal is an insult then maybe you should change your view point.

This is not high school homeroom. Polls are also subjective. I've never received a call or been contacted to be a part of them. If you poll all republicans you will get very different numbers than if you poll all democrats.

Abu, conservatives call liberals fascists.

To answer the question, I don't understand either. I know most of us are more moderate, that includes those who are conservative as well. Cons call anyone who disagrees with them as liberals to be spiteful or can't come up with a better comeback than that.

Why do libs constantly try to associate conservatism with communism (Reds)? Do you guys have guilt over it coming from your side of the ideological spectrum? It makes about as much sense as calling us fascists also a term with it's roots in the liberal ideology. I call liberals liberals because I do understand them. Probably better than they understand themselves.

Because it's far easier to do that than to accept that not everyone falls under one or the other category (Conservatives and Liberals). They're not big on nuance.

Go back to riding the short yellow bus. 50% of the citizens in the United States are liberals, give or take a few.

So how does that equate to 120,000? Are you doing fuzzy math like Al Gore?
