Are you kidding? Country is awesome! The lyrics are easy to understand, they don't promote violence or promiscuity, and the genre is varied enough that the songs don't all sound the same. There are electric guitars in country music, not all of it is twangy sounding. (I don't hear any twang in Jack Ingram's "Love You" or Bon Jovi/Jennifer Nettles' "Who Says You Can't Go Home?") If somebody tells you they can't stand country music because it's all this and that (the old stereotypes which die hard), tell them to listen to some of these artists and then re-evaluate their opinion: Sugarland, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins, Jack Ingram, Danielle Peck, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, Gretchen Wilson, Big and Rich, Cowboy Troy, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney.
To me, it's hip-hop and rap where every single song sounds the same as the next one. I can't tell the difference between Jay-Z and P. Diddy, but I can definitely tell the difference between Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson, or between Sugarland and the Wreckers, or between Gretchen Wilson and Martina McBride.
Country music is about everyday living in America. There is loving, leaving, drinking, praying, and all that in country songs because there is all of that in American life.

Uhh. I dont have anything against it anymore. It's just that I think there's so much of it, and to people who are used to other types of music, all of country sounds exactly the smae and it seems the songs are all about the same thing. It can get annoying when all your friends listen to is country. It's the same with rap & hiphop, I cant stand it because every song sounds the same. It's just a matter of taste. I like some country, but I have a really hard time finding the good stuff, so most of the time i dont bother with the genre.

I think people who say they hate country music are probably talking about the stereotypical "my woman left me and took my dog now i'm alone in my trailer" type of music. I don't think they've actually heard any current country music. Or, maybe they just don't like the twang.

Tho' not a fan, I have nothing against Country music, I have a problem with watered down mediocre country - rock thats neither good country OR good rock and thats all I'm hearing these days.

I love country music. I got into it when I started getting sick of the new music coming out in the pop and rock/alternative genres all sounding the same.

It's not really my style of music, I like the sound of electric guitars and harder singing more than the soft twang sound of country.

Country music has a twang that can be annoying. It is also very simple and gets boring quickly.
