i do spelling is fun. i remember the first word i ever got wrong on a spelling test. it was "analyze" in the 7th grade. i spelled it anylize

I consider it a good job on my part when I use the spell check tool on a long answer or email, and all my words are spelled correctly.
Good spelling is all about patterns, and becoming familiar with the variations that break the pattern. I am at the point now that I can tell when something is spelled wrong just by the way it "feels." There are still some words that I have to memorize, like friend, their, and inoculate.
Bad spelling (and sentence structure, and grammar) get in the way of good, clear communication and should be avoided at all costs.

Yes, I love spelling! I've been in a few spelling bees and won some too! I'm good at English/Language Arts in general, this stuff just comes naturally to me.

I am a huge hypocrite in this subject. In other words, I hate when people misspell things, but I actually misspell things all the time myself without realizing it. In my case it is partially due to the fact I am a not very good at typing too.
