Yes.

The LAN cable must be a cross-wire type, or "null modem" type Ethernet cable.

Once the computers are connected by the cable, they should recognize each other (if you are using Win2000, or better). If they don't, use the help functions in Start/HelpAndSupport to setup the network: a peer-to-peer network.

With a crossover ethernet cable, you can setup a network between two computers with ethernet cards. (If you actually have a router it's easier.)

I've done it before with Windows computers... windows networking is kinda buggy with this setup, but i've gotten it to work. Just make sure they both have sharing enabled, and it will be easier if they are set to the same workgroup.
