My mother thinks she owns me until I am 21 i am 16 and i think the answer is 18. Can you help me please. Thank you.

I think that 18 is a good age because then it will be showing responsibility not only to your friends but to ur parents 2 if you start to do things on ur own when ur 18 then have to you learn how to deal with problems urself besides you are not going to have ur momo 4 ever to self ur problems you have to do things own ur own at some point in your life.

First of all, your mother doesn't OWN you, she is responsible for you...there's a big difference. Secondly, she is only responsible for you until you're 18. After that, you're on your own, and responsible for the decisions you make. Let me remind you...that doesn't mean you can do whatever you want IF you're still living in her house after the age of 18. She still makes the rules and if you don't want to abide by them, she is free to tell you to "hit the road", and by law, you have to.

there is never an age when you can do what you want. she is legally responsible for you until you are 18, but as long as you live at home with her she gets to make the rules. good luck to you,.

There is really no age where you do what you want....
You obviously need so much to learn!
Life is never about doing whay you want. Even homeless people HAVE to do something - Sand in the sun the whole day with a sing in thier hand!

I believe that as long as you live in your parent's home you have to live by their rule's.
Don't think about leaving though it's nice having a roof over your head,no bill's,food clothing etc.... Parent's normally have rule's in order to keep you safe and us from worry. also, you never can really do exactly what you want all the time,there is alway's some-one to answer to.
