I am 22 Pakistani Citizen met a woman from States 2 years ago, we fell in love last month she made a visit to Pakistan stayed with me for about 20 days and we get married, and she is getting me to U.S. i am afraid becouse i heard from many ppl that i am not gonna be welcome there. feel free to give ur opinions i just need to know and make my mind before going there.

I do not know where you heard you would not be welcome, but most Americans welcome any immigrants who come legally and work and support themselves. The only things that makes americans angry is if immigrants sneak in and get on the welfare system and will not speak english. You will be welcome here, and congratulations with your marriage.

Most people in the US are from a heritage that is foreign. You will be very surprised when you come here. We live together and work together for the most part in harmony. Of course, there are always those who are suspicious or racist in any culture. We are no exception. I was taught that you judge a man by the "content of his character and not the color of his skin". Just be friendly and open. People will accept you and you will have many friends here. Best wishes on your marriage and welcome to the US.

You will meet all kinds of people with many different views regarding race, beliefs, etc. However, just consider that you are visiting another country and be open minded. Remember at least for you, you will be welcomed by someone who loves you, that should make it so much easier for you to adjust.

The U.S. in the most diversed country today and it jus all depends on how you are as a person....racism still exist so you might experience that you might be well liked because yu are from a different country....if you allow what others do or say get to you then you probably wont like it......

We have freedom of expression in the US and A, so depending how many people you meet, you might encounter any combination of the labels you used, in various people, especially if you go looking for it. Be genuine, honest, down-to-earth, and you'll usually get the same in return.

Just remember that you are in America, not Pakistan. And americans don't want america to become more like Pakistan, no matter how you might think we would be. Remember those 2 things and you should be fine. Welcome, and congratulations on your marriage.

You'll find good and bad people, just like anywhere else. After 9/11 people are very wary of mid easterners.
