Flow of rivers has little to do with north/south/east/west. It has more to do with topography. In other words, water runs down from high elevations to lower ones.
The Nile (like someone said...flows from south to north) starts in mountainous areas of Sudan & Ethiopia...then to flat land in the Egyptian desert, then empties into the Meditteranean Sea.
It's about elevation, not direction.

Yes. Rivers flow downhill, not toward compass points. The Nile flows south to north. The Columbia River in Oregon flows East to West. Look at a map, you will see rivers in all directions.

Yes...The Nile flows north to the Mediterranean. The Fraser River flows west to the Pacific. The Yenisei flows north to the Arctic Sea. It all has to do with gravity, not latitude or longitude. Where the land is lower, the water will run down it. Simple as that!
