actually, that's what i'm starting to do right now. i'm drawing for this guy my friend met at an anime store. and now we have a whole team of artists and writers trying to start our own story. we also network with the people who does Forgive Me Father, Ravenous/Animation and The Sins of a Gun. so i guess it all comes down to the networking.

A good thing to do would get together a portfolio of all your best artworks/ideas/and a short essay on your experiances and capabilities with drawings, comics, etc.
Then Id send that portfolio to all the comic companys you can find. (Marvel, DC, etc). And then just see if you can publish drawings in the newspaper or in a magazine, to help your credibility as an artist. And a good agent dosnt hurt either hehe. Eventually some of your works bound to get noticed and hopefully youll get a job in comics :b

The secret to becoming great in any kind of humanity, such as art or writing, is to be as prolific as possible. The more work you have out there in the public, the more likely you will be "discovered". Stephen King got hundreds of rejections before publishing his first book. Piccaso was told for years that he would never amount to anything, but he just kept on painting.

So, no matter what anyone says, no matter how many of your prescious works get rejected, just keep hacking away at it and eventually something will happen.

The other secret is to get a good agent. At a certain point in the game, it really is all about who you know. It is an agent's job to know people. But, they really can't do anything unless you have a large body of work for them to present to publishers.

Lots of luck, I hope to see your book at the store very soon.

Drawing. Daily. Several times daily. It's all based on drawing.

submit to your local newspaper or even college newspapers. If they like you, maybe ask to have them submit to their owners or networks - gotta start somewhere!
