I have been tring to get the courts to help me and they don't do anything. I still talk to the guy and he doesn't pay me hardly anything. We have been split up for almost two months and I can't get the court to help me. I just got my hands on his SS# and I know he just did his taxes. I want to know will I get any of that even though I haven't given the court his SS#? Also, is their any other way to get this going without it costing me a lot???

He didn't use the kids on his taxes, I won't allow it. He doesn't have their SS#'s. I now he's the father, he's on the birth certificate. I don't have a lot of money but I need to do something.

We were never married and their is an order for him to pay. I just can't get the prosecutor to even talk to me anymore. They told me a long time ago that they would send him a court date and let me know when it is. They never did. I live in Indiana and I know for a fact that his ex wife in Florida finds him online with his SS# and they garnish his wages. Indiana hasn't done that for me, not since I moved here to this other county and ordered it again. I had canceled it when we got back together. I don't have much money and I can't get the prosecutor to help me. What else can I do???

seems to me, you need to light a fire under someones bottom and put some heat on the case.

its not being addressed, which, i honestly dont know how thats possible.

write a letter; in it, give your contact info, your case number (or that you dont have one yet), his info (not his ss yet, until they request it), and the problem of its been months... and no date has been set yet.

then ask them what they are doing about this.

take that ONE letter and FAX it to the following:
1) your states Attorney General
2) your states Governor
3) your states Regional FEDERAL Child Support Office

all links are below

you see, phone calls are useless; they are ignored, denied and forgotten. mail ends up in someones "to do" pile, but FAXING is effect. if ever you cant find a fax number (most are listed online) then simply call and ask for it.

fax it weekly if you dont hear anything. the squeaky wheel gets the oil, if ya know what i mean.

Something doesn't seem right here.

Have you contacted your state's department of social services (or its equivalent) about child support enforcement? All states are required to assist, for free, the enforcement of child support orders. However, the caseload is huge and you may find that it takes a long time.

You didn't say whether there is an order of child support, and/or a divorce decree, paternity, etc.

If there isn't an order of child support, you will need to obtain an Order from the court ordering him to pay child support. In MOST states, when a child support order is entered, they are required by law to start income withholding, by whence his employer will withhold from his paycheck the appropriate child support amounts.

You need to contact an attorney in your area who has experience in family law matters. Call your local or state bar association for a referral.

There are organizations that help track down deadbeat dads. FIrst you need proof he is the father, you already have his SS number. Look on his taxes , did he claim your child as a dependent. If he did, that is your proof even if his name is not on the birth certificate. Check your local womens groups.
