20 years old is still a kid. For me, "real" adulthood seemed to kick in around 32. By that time you have a spouse, kids, house, steady job....playtime's over. And that's when you realize you've grown up. Your view of the world changes too. Even if you've promised yourself that you'll never be like your parents. You can't stop it.

(When I say 20 is still a kid, that's not a put down. Enjoy it while you can. No one ever ages in reverse. Cherish every moment!)

im 24 iv owned my own home since 23 been in the military for 5 years now have had 3 ne cars paid off along with 12 used cars and 7 motorcycles more bills and debt that i can shake a stick at was engaged once to a nice < i thought > girl who left me later :p i dont feel like an adult yet ..... but i dont really worry abotu being thought of as an adult i think that as long as you act responsible and with a clear head it dosent matter if yoru an adult or not basically if you ever think yor being childish ... stop and think how would a responsible adult handle this .. do that for a while and i bet you wont wonder if your an adult anymore because being an adult or  only really refers to drinking age and the way you handle life ... anyway just my 2 cents

I didn't feel like an adult until I had a son. I was 23. Being responsible for him made me grow up. It's not about age, it's about the way you feel.
