I am thinking about upgrading to a widescreen LCD monitor with my new computer. How big should a widescreen LCD be to have the same screen height as a 17" and/or a 19" regular LCD monitor?

Hi. The screen's resolution should equal the number of pixels in the LCD, so size is not the main issue. My LCD has 1280 by 1024 pixels, so that is what I run at. The 17" and 19" dimensions are the hypotenuse values (diagonal). I don't know the brands you are looking at but try to have at LEAST 1024 vertical pixels.
