Assume that 10-15 years from now, the capitalists are proven to be correct, and UHC is a failure. Costs are up, taxes are high, and quality is down.....

Do you think that the government would dismantle it, or continue to throw more and more money at it like they do every other failing program.(i.e. education, the war on drugs, etc.)

We would continue to throw more and more money at it because none of our elected retards, err officials, has the cahonies to do what is right but unpopular. We would create another series of dependencies and would not be able to get away from them.

Look at the plus side. If everyone is required to have UHC to legally reside in the USA then we won't have illegals calling an ambulance to get a free taxi to the emergency room to get medical treatment that can be done at a minor emergency treatment center for a charge.

I could wish Texas had UHC and maybe the rest of the country could cash in on the cheap labor force you seem to want. But, to answer your real question, once an entitlement gets going, it never dies. What has been gutless is the inability to fund the program we have already without incurring massive debt.

UHC does work in Europe. The reason it works is they have to pay all doctor bills upfront and then reclaim any coverages with their insurance. Insurance comes in 3 tiers of services.

Well all we managed with welfare was to get it reformed. So I'm sure if they get it passed it will be a blight for the duration of our lives.

Liberals ought to be about ready to pull out on the war on poverty huh? What's it been about 40 years and we still have the same poverty rate.

They would just continue with it, personally I feel the government screws everything up that it gets its hands into, I prefer privatized healthcare.
