Actually, the VW beetle engine (the same engine used in the microbus) is one of the simplest engines ever made. Jumpstarting it after 30 years is still very feasible. The longevity of the engine running without new oil however is suspect. The engine would probably seize after a few minutes of running. But I find that less unrealistic than most of the happenings on lost.

I have watched Lost since the beginning. My daughter and I turn in every week but I have to be honest, it is getting far too ridicules anymore. Yes, it has always been far fetched but WOW! It just keeps getting more and more nuts. I think if the clues came a little faster all of what we are watching may not be as crazy.
There is no way the Bus would start. I'm sorry I don't have that much hope! LOL

I don't know anything about cars, but my husband had a hard time of believing it...but then again this is a fantastical TV show on a fantastical island, so I guess if you can buy into time travel and smoke monsters why not VW buses starting?
