Al Gore make an appearance in the Oscars Awards Presentation on Sunday pledging support for Going Green campaign. He even a mock attempt to make a big announcement (presumely to announce his candidacy for running for President next year) before music cut him off. Was it a publicity stunt or genuine support for the noble "Green" cause. Your take.

I think he was trying to be funny. Al Gore will never run for president again. He was just showing people that he had a sense of humor and that he is not some cuckoo green freak. I think he was just trying to be entertaining and plug his views in at the same time. Not much more to read into.

I highly doubt someone would make a "documentary" in the hopes of winning an Oscar. Documentary makers are the kinds of people who feel passionately enough about something to want to "get the message out" to the world. I don't think Al Gore was trying to get anything out of the Oscars, you get nominated, you can't just go ask for one. I will be surprised if he does run for the presidency, and I think if he does, it will be because of continued squabbling among the major Democratic "contenders".

He has alot of self-effacing humor and is attempting to shake off that stiff persona that dogged him while he was VP.
Al is just having fun and enjoying the spotlight as well as using it for a platform for the noble "Green"cause.

I am happy to see him rise like the Phoenix and pour his heart and soul into "Inconvenient Truth".

I think he was just trying to be light hearted, which we all know is not one of his strenghts. He is stiff and awkward, but I think he was sincere with his global warming talk. although he does have a $3,000 a month utility bill, and probably stayed in a nice hotel which uses lots of power, and drove to the Oscars with in a caravan of SUV's. But he really believes it, so that's what matters the most.

He was there to have fun and show he is a mature person with a good sense of humor.

We could do a lot worse for a President.

Oh wait.

We are right now.

uh, gore and the academy were making light of a potentially heavy situation.

in other words it was humor.

He was feeling the water for a possible nudge toward the election. It was all political. Blatantly.
