How can you possibly say that one is better than the other? They are certainly different from one another in shape size and content, but apart from that they are the same. Each contains items of interest which have been lovingly collected and put on display for the enjoyment of everyone who wants to see. We are very fortunate that wealthy men built and filled these buildings and in some cases left money for their up-keep.
Just for us, so that we may benefit from them.

this is a bag of worms. its like asking footballers to choose or which is the best film made english or american. both building are great exhibition halls both have wonderful art in them and are both in exciting cities
the tate modern has modern art that is in the last hundred years where as the met new york has a lot of older pieces. the tate can put masive exhibition in the turbine hall where as the met is an old building so its floor space is limited. i think the tate is more fresher in its approch to light and space.

The Met is da bomb!! lol..I usually don't sound so childish...
The Met is so large...the building, from the outside seems like a court from Versailles, but the space inside seems so much larger! It is gorgeous!! So many exhibits, so much to view!! One of my favorites is the Rome exhibit!! You feel like you are were plucked out of 2007 and placed in that time period. You feel an overwhelming realness to everything, especially when you view a room as it looked decades or cneturies ago!! Go to the MET!!!!
