uterine retroversion occurs when the uterus tilts posteriorly, so that the cervix points anteriorly. if the tilt is mild, the retroversion is called first degree. if the fundus of the uterus is in the hollow of the sacrum, the retroversion is said to be in the third degree. it is caused by congenital or acquired weakness of the pelvic support structures. these structures can be injured during surgery or childbirth or by tumors, inflammatory diseases and other problems. most women with this kind of condition is asymptomatic. assessment findings, when present, do not necessarily correlate with the amount of displacement. however, symptoms may include backache, a feeling of pelvic pressure and absence of menstruation. consult an obstetrician so that the treatment is directed toward the underlying cause.

Put your search engine to use and see what you can find...also, your doctor can probably tell you more about it than many here.

Good luck!
