Suddenly we have a little twist in the status quo. Broncos, as has become a yearly tradition, send their leading runner packing to a lower team...I'm sure Skins fans may argue this, but not the point. In doing so, the Broncos have filled a cornerback position that would have potentially been an early draft requirement. On the other side, the Lions also get Foster to help bolster their offensive line...similar to the Broncos, the Lions were expected to draft an o-lineman first round.

So now what? How will this affect these two teams? How will this affect other picks? Does this mean Brady Quinn is heading to Motown?

well it creates a need at running for the Broncos. Most liely though the broncos will wait till round 2 or 3 before they take runningback. As for the lions it mean that most likely that they expect kevin jones to miss a big portion of the season. in terms of the draft, they were expecting to lose bly anyways so to get value for him was only a plus. they are still looking at joe thomas as their 1st round pick, while still consider russell or quinn at qb. Looks like they are going hard after kevin curtis the wr from the rams, which hopefully signals that millen is not going to take calvin Johnson Wide reciever in this up coming draft.

This opens up alot of possibilities for the Lions right now the biggest need is DE and CB. This gives them the perfect oppertunity to trade down with the Cards and pick up another day 1 draft pick and still pick up a guy like Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson at the #5 pick unfortunantly the just traded James Hall for a fifth round draft choice leaving a huge hole at DE on both ends.

The Broncos have basically solidified a playoff spot this year. The Broncos have never taken a 1st round RB the entire time that Shanahan has been HC and I don't expect a player like Marshawn Lynch to fall past the Giants. I see a tackle like Joe Staley from Central Michigan getting reached for by the Broncos.
This guy fits their systme perfectly with his speed and power.

The trade should mean the Lions aren't taking Peterson, but the tackle Thomas instead. Perhaps they could move down and still get Thomas, but I wouldn't do it. They need nearly a complete overhaul on their offesive line this year.
The Broncos probably have decided that Mike Bell is the better running back to keep, and will draft someone in 3rd round or later again. Maybe they'll draft Pittman from Ohio State, since Clarrett worked out so well for them a couple of years ago.

Cgirl: You need to learn a little about football and how the Broncos do business. It is a great move for the Broncos. A move they had to make due to the death of Darrent Williams.

The trade benefits both teams and now the Lions can draft a QB like Quinn. Or dare I say, the Lions could draft WR Johnson.

For the overall draft teams looking for CB help after the Broncos 21s are happy but the rumors of mcgahee to denver are still out there so them drafting a day one RB may not happen. The Lions trading down increases since they wont go CB at # 2 but can go DE (deep class this year)or OT (Levi Brown) later. The Bucs may be worried Calvin Johnson wont fall to them at 4 as many predict, take your pick of teams that would trade up to #2 for a stud like him.
