EVERYONE lies sometimes. Hopefully, they're just white lies like telling you "you don't look fat in those pants". I think these fibs aren't too harmful.
The lies that should make us feel bad are the lies that actually hide who we are. We need to be honest with each other when it involves the integrity of the relationship.

I don't know that there is ny way to describe a lie than what it is - a lie! As far as what do men lie about? There is no line that probably isn't crossed from finances to answering, "Honey do I look fat in this?". Telling the truth even if it hurts is still better than telling a lie to keep from hurting someone's feelings. I'd rather be told the truth than deceiving me. Finding out someone isn't truthful with me hurts much worse, it causing a lack of trust. And, for the record, I didn't lie to my wife during our marriage(little or big lies either one). She probably got mad at me more than most wives do their husbands, but she knew she could trust me when I told her anything.

men lie about things when they are afraid, nervous, or worried, particularly things related to work, business, or their health.
Just think about the male ego... the man wants to be the protector, the provider, the confident and strong one. Anything that is going to damage his self esteem and ego, he will try to cover up.
Also, sometimes there might be a female who is flirting with him at work or other places. Even though the man has no interest in the other female, he won't tell his wife so she doesn't freak out. But he isn't keeping the secret for any alterior motive.
Finally, a man will lie about his male friends. It is like a genetic honor code among males. We will lie for our male friends.

EVERYBODY tells little white lies. I am actually one of the guys that does that least. But I do tell some to get out of small awkward social jams. I come clean to my woman when I get the chance.

I think "white lies" are ok, as long as they don't have serious implications for the current situation. I'm not really sure what you would consider "white lies", tho - so we might be talking about two different things here.

I can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't lie. Im 47 yrs.old and I don't want to start explaining why I lied at this age. Or start looking for another Ms. right when this one catches me lying to her. But to answer your question: Men lie about practically everything you can think of. Especially SIZE!! Remember.

Truth is overrated.
I can tell my wife she's beautiful. Should I also add that I have never heard a compliment from anyone else about her beauty? Should I add that I have seen other women that I have been more attracted to physically?
The whole truth can kiss my fanny.

No one has ever told the whole truth during their life span. People will lie about anything.

Probably about the same as wives.
Lying is not a gender trait, it's a character trait, and people of poor character come in both male and female.
