this is an awkward question. you should give an example of how you would rank other players first, so in this case i would know what to compare Shaq to. If Yao was rated 95, then i would rank Shaq probably around an 80, and the reason is is age, energy thats left of him, and what he can do. Obviously if you were talking about Shaq 5 years ago, he would be ranked like a 98 because he was such a big force around the rim.

I would rate Shaq a 85, eventhough he is up there in age and doesn't move the way he used to. He still dominates the middle and takes up a huge amount of space. He can give you 20 points, 10 rebounds, and maybe 2 blocks on any given night. Plus, nobody in the league wants to take a foul from him. That alone gives the Heat defensive points while he is on the floor. Add in that he must be double teamed to keep him from scoring 30....don't forget his passing skills, along with the team leader skills. If anyone in the league could have him, they'd take him in a heart beat.

Maybe an 80. Right now I dont think shaq is a top 10 player anymore in the nba. He is dominant but not overally dominant now with his injuries and younger talent dominating the low post position with power and speed.

compared with other centers in the game today, he is still up there. not even yao or dwight howard is better especially on 1 on 1, single coverage

so 90 coz he's not perfect but still top of the center class

i would rate him at 100... sure hes getting old, but with that oldness, he brings a lot of knowledge and wisdom to the team. and whoever is playing him probably prays the night before the game not to get owned by his incredible power.

80. He still draws a double team when he gets the ball so that means there is always one person open for an uncontested shot.
