I love this type of question. Ok, I live in Connecticut in the south western part. Close by is Long Island Sound which is beautiful and used for all kinds of recreation. Nearby are several state parks, one with a waterfall. In Meriden is the famous Hubbard Park that is visited by millions yearly. The park covers 1800+ acres, has a mountain about 1500 feet high with a castle tower you can climb to get a view that you won't get anywhere else in Connecticut. It also has a beautiful lake, duck pond, swimming pool, barbecue cookeries and many hiking trails. During late April there is the annual daffodil festival with hundreds of acreas of daffodils and entertainment. Plenty of great restaurants and tourist traps in the state. I hope nobody thinks I am a state rep and soliciting the state, because I am NOT.

Good Lord, have you ever been to Willits, CA ? There's NOTHING to do here. We don't even have a decent Bar or Dance Club. A small movie theater that's about it.
It's a perfect place to stop and smell the roses though, and it's a pretty, quite, peaceful place to live, which is why I'm here really.

In Oregon, there are tons of cheezy community oriented events (festivals, parades, etc.) and even though they're lame, you just have to go--its a blast. There's also a lot of out-of-doors exploring to do, (hiking, rafting, etc) I think, no matter where you live, you just have to make the most of what's available to you....

I live in Oxford, England. For me, shopping is one of the greatest things to do in my spare time. Because I love travelling and being outdoors too, I also like to hike with friends and visit ''undiscovered'' villages here. You should visit the UK, it's great to be here.
