Tomorrow im going to visit my country's(Malta) landfill because there's going to be an open day. There is also going to be the minister for the environment. what questions should i ask.
i was thinking -what is the gov doing in favour of the environment -subsudies? & against - incenators, powerstation pollution?

Ask if the landfill is a sanitry landfill or a secure landfill, or not labeled. Meaning is it safe and are materials leaching out.
Ask if the methane is being used to generate electricity or just being burned off. It can also be used to generate steam if there is a user nearby.
Ask if there is a recycling program.
Ask if construction debris is mixed with the household and industrial garbage.
Ask if incinerators are used in your country, they are not always polluters, If they burn the garbage at 2500 degrees they produce CO2 and H2O. It is only the ash that is considered hazardous, because the heavy metals are now more concentrated.
Ask if any composting is being done.

I think that if there is an open day, the government is intelligent and willing to help. That indicates you have a serious government that cares for you !!!
