I mean I don't agree with everything he says, but at least he is honest and tries to give advise to help the contestants improve. It seems to me that Paula and Randy are affraid that they are going to hurt someones feelings or something. It's a competition!! Someone will end up losing and I figure that they might want to know why they lost! Simon will tell them. So why does everyone hate Simon for being honest with these poor kids? Some one has to tell them, I mean life is not always peaches and cream.

because everyone in this country is afraid of people who speak the truth, and speak their minds. they are SO worried about hurting people's feelings, that they won't speak the truth, except in the most extremele obvious conditions. Paula will never say anything scathing, Randy will fire up a FEW times, but Simon's criticizism is actually the most accurate and relevant. but because of his "Edge", people line up to rail against him, even though they know he is right 95% of the time.

I don't have a problem with Simon being honest about their singing, I think it is important that the contestants know the truth. However, my biggest issue is when he gets too personal with the contestants, and brings up issues that have nothing to do with their performance; for example: calling them losers or making an inappropriate comment about their weight or how they look. That is simply uncalled for. While it is a singing competition, emotionally putting down the contestants is completely unacceptable. Simon really needs to work on his treatment of others in that department. I believe it was last year when he said that they would need to get a bigger stage for that one girl. That was totally immature.

I have worked in theater and I have been involved in the auditions. Simon is a jerk and I think it is just his personality, however he is right. Of anyone on the show he is the first to point out a flaw. Yes it is a popularity contest once America gets their hands on the voteing but Simon will tell how it is and Im glad that someone on the show has the proverbial balls to stand up and say that was bad. He is the one that honestly wants to see the best artist win (not the one with the biggest boobs). I dont like him, wouldent want to work for him but respect his honesty and ability to pick out the people who really arent up to standard.

I love Simon! I think he is dead right in most of his judgments and comments. I think Paula is wrong in not letting him say what he wants about the contestants. There are a few cases when I think he poke the truth but he may not have had to be quite so blunt.

I think he is the most honest person on the show. He knows it's a popularity contest. He knows what will sell to the public. And he's right a good portion of the time.

He's the only reason I watch the show.

I agree with you. Simon may not always put things in the most polite and nice way, but he's honest, and he's also right most of the time. Have you noticed how many times he's correctly predicted who would win?

Paula is really just losing it. Did you hear what she said about the dude Brandon? "His heart hears his voice". WHAT??!!

Simon is trustworthy. each now and then brutally so, yet truly, he's the in reality decide who tells it like it truly is. Randy does on party, yet all of us understand Paula loves easily everyone. Simon has the balls to talk up even as someone would not do their perfect.

Because he doesn't "sugar coat" his responses, the public views him as rude, condescending, smug, arrogant, pompous, bombastic, etc...

Because he is a total A**. Even tho he is right, he doesn't have to be such an a** about it.

I think people think he`s mean. He can be harsh but if you really think about it he`s usually right.
