it was around 10 months that my daughter slept thru the night with out a feeding. when you start your baby on baby food, try to make the cereal the last meal right before he goes to sleep. it would fill my daughter up longer than breastfeeding and she would sleep longer! good luck

Usually about 4 months, but it depends on how much he is eating during the day and how much he weighs. At your 4 month well-baby visit, the doctor should tell you. He/she will ask how much and how often the baby is eating and that will help determine...
My four month old is 15 lbs. and eats 8 oz every three hours. She told us would could cut the night time feedings and start trying solids!
My baby is bottle and breastfed so it was a little easier to figure out about how much he was eating. Now that we do two solid food sessions a day (just about a teaspoon each time) he can go longer before he needs fed again. He LOVES cereal time. He loves grabbing for the spoon and starts making the mouth motions when he sees the bowl. It's soo cute.

every baby is different. mine is breastfed and started sleeping from 9 at night till 6 in the morning before 6 weeks.... but my girlfriends baby still hasnt slept more than 4 hours at a time and he is 11 months old... you shouldnt rush it though cuz if the baby is hungry then he needs the nutrition and probably the comfort...just think of the benefit to him...he will decide when he doesnt need the midnight feeding not anyone else

Babies who are bottle-fed get a larger amount of milk than breastfed babies, therefore the fuller the tummies, the longer they sleep. The breastfed babies eat more often for this reason - they get smaller portions and wake up more often because their little bodies digest the smaller amounts of milk faster than a bottle-fed baby. Until your baby starts on a bottle, unfortunately he will continue this way! My son slept through the night at 6 weeks old... he has always been bottle-fed as I was unfortunately not able to breast feed. You're tired now, but when that baby gets older you'll look back fondly at the late-nite/early morning feedings, it's your time and no one else's with your little guy...

It really depends on how much breast milk he is getting from you and what time you are putting him down at night.
Generally, babies by the time the y reach 4 months MAY start to sleep thru the night, but some do not. I found once my child could roll over he started sleeping better.
Babies at you son's age 6-8 hours is sleeping thru the night, so if you are getting the kind of hours out of him then he is. After six to eight hours they do get hungry, all depends on the time you are putting him to sleep and how much he got at his last feeding.
You will be starting solids soon so he will be more satisfied soon.

It could be several months. Breastfed babies require more feedings since their milk is so easily digested. My babies all slept thru the night at 2 mos, but they were formula fed and I usually gave them their last feeding around 11 pm. Be patient, it will happen.

honestly, doctors consider it 'sleeping through the night' if a child sleeps five hours. So if your son goes to sleep at eleven or earlier and doesn't awake until four, congratz--according to the doctors, he's sleeping through the night.
a baby's stomach is very small, and breastmilk breaks down quickly, so sometimes it takes a while before they can go a full eight hours without eating. I believe my son was around seven months old before he consistently slept eight hours without waking up to nurse, and even then if he hit a growth spurt all bets were off.
Congratz on your baby and good luck!

My daugther was formula fed and sleeping through the night at 2 1/2 months. My cousins baby was formula fed and she is 8 months and still wakes up 2 times in the night. My other friend breast fed her baby, and she still gets up and she is nearly 1. As you can see, it all depends on the child, everyone is different. Oh yeah, my other cousin has a 3 year old and she gets up in the night as well, not to eat but she still gets up and sometimes doesn't want to go back to bed. So get use to it, deal with it. Use this time to bond with your child. I loved having my daugther get up in the night, gave her and I one on one time together to bond, and I miss it so much.

Anywhere fron newborn all the way through 1 or 2 years of age depending on how long you keep him on the bottle or breast. There is no magic age but feeding them well (Not just breast milk) at his age will make a happier and less hungry baby at nights. Some dont like to feed them cereal at 4 months but I look at it like this, babies has been interdused to food at all ages and have survived.
