Turn it in. Chances are that it will not be claimed because the world is void of honest people anymore, so whoever lost it would NEVER check at a police station. Besides, they give it a week and then if not claimed and identified it's yours anyways.
Do the right thing.

I will wait at least 3 to 4 hours for the 1k money owner. Time's up, no one is looking for the lost cash, of cos, it's mine because I don't wanna to spend unknown cash which may be used for emergency immegency.

It depends on the form I found it in...if it was just a scattered $1000 I'd likely keep it, but if it's a wrapped $1000 (like at the bank) I'd probably turn it in...if it was a check I'd locate the payer.

Neither, I would donate it to someone. Chances are, if someone has 1000$ cash in their pocket and are careless enough to lose it then they're probably better of without it (and would hopefully learn from it). I wouldn't keep it however, I would donate it to a charity or shelter or something. I'm certainly not that needy.

Believe or not I found 300 bucks a couple of years ago ( euros) and of course I keeped , not sense give the money to a cop!!

If it's in a wallet or purse with the owner's identification, I would try to return it to them.
If not, I'm keeping the money. The pigs would just blow it all on donuts and counterfeit viagra.

I would put an ad in the paper like, "if you lost something at (whereever you found the money) please contact me so I can return it.) if no one answers it I would keep it, but not spend it on myself, someone worked hard for that money and it's bad karma. donate it to a charity or church

a grand in cash?! If you turn it into the police, they're just gonna keep it because there is little chance of finding it's onwer anyway.

If you believe in karma then i advise you to turn it in to the police. Because one day you will lose that amount of cash anyhow.

if you turned it into the police how are they gunna know whos it is so i would keep it unless it said someones name and address witch is most likely not likely to happen
