I can give you what to expect in Boracay Island. See my pic? that was taken from boracay, white sand blue green water. the activities you can enjoy are snorkelling and you can feed the fish underwater. banana boat ride, explore caves, ride and drive an atv (all terrain vehicle) to explore the islands natural beauty, and many more. also fresh seafood that you will enjoy and not expensive. i've heard that phuket is also very good. so take your pickand have a grand vacation.

It really depends. Phuket and Boracay are quite different.
Boracay is a small island. There are no airport or seaport. There is an airport in the main island and from there you take an outrigger boat to Boracay. It is purely sun and beach. Some nightlife, treking, souvenir shopping and other aqua sports (diving, wind surfing, etc..) but thats it.
Compare to Phuket, it has direct flights and easily accessible. Since it is a big area (city), you can move around and see Thai culture and its temples if you get bored in the beach.
If you only want the sun and beach for 7 days, then Boracay is for you. If you want more than that, then Phuket should suit you well.

sightseeing-wise, both places have almost the same features. powdery white sand, remote islands for snorkelling, diving, local bars and restaurants for great fresh food and nonstop drinks. however, boracay has mangroves too, hiking spots and nature parks that phuket lacks.
and plus, filipinos looooove to party anyday of the week, in boracay most of all!

Both countries got lots of nice, & white sand beaches.
In Phils. Boracay is a known island for tourists (local & internationsl) so it means, it's very commercialized already.
If you want a nice & not so secluded island, try Bantayan Island, Malapascua Island & Panglao Island.

I would suggest looking up El Nido, Palawan. Its much better than Boracay. El Nido is not just a beach, its paradise. You can check it out here www.elnidoresorts.com. Or just search El Nido,Palawan for other websites.

ive been to both places...phuket is really amazing.but communication wise its hard to talk to the locals...
boracay for me is the best.its perfect for fun and party..ur right on the beach.plus you will save a lot compared to phuket...
