While many of their tactics, attitudes and beliefs may be very similar Mr. Bush can't hold a candle to Herr Hitler.
Hitler was an evil genius, Bush is a failure, while evil, he is a failure. Yes, Bush lies and would like to rule the world to compare him to Hitler exactly is stretching it. Similarities can be found but not enough.

Hitler was a dictator, Bush is an elected official. Hitler wanted a genocide, Bush is fighting for every race and relgion expirience freedom. Bush is kind of like the world's ACLU. Think about it.

Stupidity. That is the plain simple answer. Some people are so filled with hate for Bush that comparing him to Hitler seems reasonable to them. To any rationally thinking person, this is an unreasonable comparison.

Hitler: The Reichstag Fire of 1933
bush: 9/11
Hitler: The Enabling Act
bush: The Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act
It's a valid comparison. They are invoking the same tactics to terrorize and thereby control the people.

I'll bet a million dollars not ONE of you rightwing crybabies have READ what the Enabling Act and the Reichstag Fire were. You'e SO afraid of facts.

They do it because of the negative connotation associated with Hitler's name, and because there is a slight similarity in Bush's "if you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't care if we invade your privacy" policies.
Truth is, that's where the similarity begins and ends, and it's mostly because Hitler was a bad, bad guy.
I think Bush is more like Osama bin Laden, personally. Think about it. They both grew up rich. They're both powerful. They both manipulate the emotions of their followers to get them to do whatever they want.
Osama just happens to be evil. But in personality, they're quite similar.
