What is the most known and nicest museum in the United States? History please no art. Science is alright as well.

The Smitsonian is probably the most well know US musuem. It is actually 14 musuems most of them located on the Mall in Washington DC. In addition there 2 more in New York city. There are several history museums at the Smitsonian including Air and Space Museum, The Musuem of Natural History, American Indian Museum, and the Anacostia Museum.
