Etoo was African Cup of Nations top scorer top scorer in La Liga and helped Barcelona win Laliga and Champions league.Drogba played the world cup wasn't top scorer in any of the competitions.The problem is Etoo was injured but that doesn't make Drogba the better player please give me good answers with explanations best answer gets 10 points.

Drogba definetly deserved the award over eto.
Eto was injured for a lot of the season and Drogba has been on terrific form scoring some great goals in the process. Especially the one against Everton. He is been scoring for club and country consistently so yes he did deserve it

The CAF chose Drogba based on current performance as in the present months. They weren't concerned with the overall peerformance.So since Etoo was injured and hasn't played 4 a long time and moreover since he has allready got the award many times they decided to give Drogba a chance. Currently Drogba is outstanding-the top scorer in the Eng Prem League and also he helped Chelsea win the Carling Cup.
Etoos heroics of being the top scorer in La Liga and helping Barcelona win the title is forgotten in Africa. Sad!

Overall i think that Etoo is a better player then Drogba, but the problem with Etoo was that he was injured and he like to talk a lot of smack about other players and teams, now Drogba is a good player but i think for what he has been doing latley he does deserve it, but if Etoo wase't injured i think Etoo should of got it.

Judging by his current achievement and goal scoring performance at the Premiereship, he deserves the award. The three of them deserved the award, but there had to be one winner. Didier Drogba had an edge above the rest - he is the current top goal scorer in the English Premiership and also the current top goal scorer this season in all competition in Europe. That should at least give him some recognition in his home continent.
I think he can also be a strong contender for the Player of the year award.....watch this space.

Yes he did because Etoo hasnt played much this season. However, I think Drogba is one of the best actors and cheats I have seen on a football pitch. Never a game goes by without him writhing around in agony and a whole posse of Doctors and Physios on the pitch. He has a great future in Hollywood.

I agree with you.Eto'o deserves the award more than Drogba does.Drogba dives quite a lot of times.It's a different case with Eto'o.Eto'o makes an almost perfect performance whenever he is out there on the field alongside Ronaldinho,Deco and the others.But Drogba..I think he is not a team man,if you know what I mean.

you already explained it. its because eto'o was injuried why he didnt the trophy.in terms of the way drogba has been playing season you can understand it. eto'o has won it 3 years in a row (2003,2004,2005) so that proves he is the best african player.not a lot of african players has won the trophie 3 times (including drogba).
