I know the amount of time you spend with the child reduces the amount you have to pay in the UK - not sure if you're in the UK or not.

The CSA website has a calculator on it and explains a bit more about how maintenance is figured out.

assuming in USA no child maintenance will not be reduced, in future if you feel the amount should be reduce you must go back to court and prove that based on a change in circumstances the amount should be reduced not an easy burden

A new family and obligations will not be considered a factor in change of circumstances

also in some states in USA you could be held liable for part of college expenses as well

Yes - it goes down by 1/7 for every night of the week they stay over; and once they leave school for university or employment, it ends.

As for the 2nd family - they reduce your burden by, I believe it was something like 15% for the 1st, 20% for the 2nd & 25% for more than two children living with you as part of your family at present.

it depends on what state you live in. colorado, for instance, only takes into consideration children born before the child you are paying maintenance on. school is no factor for lowering, and may actually increase your maintenance due to increased expenses for the child. the older they are, the more they cost in general. look up the statutes for your state to see what calculation method they use. then you can search that calculation method and plug in the numbers. know that going to court will most likely raise your maintenance payments, inflation is in full force!

Nope, the maintance is calculated based on only your income. Doesnt matter if you got more bills or a second family, its your income that the maintence is based on.
