If he's still alive, you don't have to kill him. Put the trap in a box, and pour some vegetable oil around him where he is stuck. This will loosen the glue. Then gently push the mouse off of the trap with a pencil or spoon. Take him outside at least a mile from your home and release him near some sheltering bushes or plants.
PLEASE do not use sticky traps again. They are so cruel that they've been outlawed in some countries. Poison isn't any better, as the mice die slowly and painfully from internal bleeding. If you feel you must kill mice, use a snap trap. If you are determined to kill the mouse on the glue trap, do it quickly and don't let the mouse continue to suffer.
For those who are interested, in live trapping, I've had great success with this live trap in my house:
http://veganstore.com/index.html?stocknumber=266
It’s also available for $2 cheaper here (although I prefer to buy it from the other place since I’m not a big fan of PETA):
https://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=HP200
I've caught over a dozen mice with it so far and it can be used over and over indefinitely. Or, you can try making the free homemade humane trap described here:
http://www.helpinganimals.com/wildlife_livingWithMice.asp
If you do live trap mice, please be sure to check the traps several times a day and release the mice promptly, approximately a mile away from your home. It is much more cruel to allow a mouse in a live trap to slowly starve to death than to kill it quickly with a snap trap.

i know you don't want them in your house but mice are just trying to live like everyone else. don't step on him it might not kill him the first time the best thing to do is cut his head off. i know that sounds nasty but it's quick and nearly painless.
after that clear your house of sticky traps and buy quick-kills or catch and release trap. even those snap-traps can leave an mouse suffering for hours. he'll bite his own leg off to get away. he's body will get caught in both snap and glue traps and he'll suffer for hours before he dies. likewise, poison traps have similar effects and animals that eat the poisoned mouse will be poisoned as well. not a good thing to have in the house if you have cats or dogs. sticky traps can hurt house-hold pets and so can snap-traps.
a plus ot the catch and release traps is if you have kids you can show them a close up of a mouse without having to handle one. kids get a kick out of looking at them and it helps children learn about compassion and kindness to all God's living things.

if it's a giant rat then get an exterminator to kill it, but if it's just a tiny mouse then put it in a box and drop it outside somewhere in the woods so it can die on its on or be eaten. next time get a trap that kills it immediately or trap it yourself with a box and some food, then set it free far from your home and any other neighborhoods. NEVER USE A STICKY PAD!!!

Thats is completly inhumane. Try some non-lethal traps next time. You have no right to kill anything.

how awful. i'd say just step on it quickly and put it out of it's misery. if you want to kill mice in your house, please get a trap that kills them instantly. those sticky traps are so incredibly cruel. the mice often rip off their skin or limbs trying to escape. i understand if you don't want mice in your house, who does? but don't make them suffer so horribly just for being mice.

Put the mouse in a freezer (or outside if it's below freezing out where you are). After it's unconscious, drown it - it takes a long time but is painless for the animal.

There are plenty of non-kill traps out there too. Please try one of them next time.
