He deserved the Nobel Peace Prize for PEACEFULLY dimantling a superpower's grip from a hapless country. Without any bloodshed.

Gandhi deserves the Nobel Peace Prize because he prevented what might have been a very bloody civil war in India. He was an advocate of peaceful protest and defiance in order to change how things are done. He was very successful.

YAWN.... ask the Nobel Prize committee. it isn't my issue. BTW, Obama did not award himself and he wasn't competing hostile to Ghandi (hell, he wasn't even competing)... this has were given to be between the most irrational criticisms of Obama ever. Did he deserve it? i do not understand... likely no longer yet I kinda do not care.

What he deserves is respect.
The prize is a nice perk, but the legacy is what matters. Of course it was well-deserved.

Of course. In what order he achieved his purpose if of no consequence. He did it peacefully with no violence.
