hi all,

the people at the social security office near my house are very unprofessional are treating me badly - and i am helpless - i need to know if i can go to a non-local branch and get social security card related work done - is it allowed for me to use a non-local branch.

You may use any social security office you choose. I frequently travel, & will occasionally have need to go to a SS office. They don't question why you are at a particular office, & probably don't even give it a thought.

If you have a complaint you can document there is no harm in at least reporting it to the regional office for SS

I would file a complaint with the Social Security office and tell them of your problems.

yes there is and 800 number for social security and you can go straight to the top call inormation or wait a minute i might have it hold on it is 1-800-772-1213 good luck you might have to be on hold for a while but hang in there ok

Yes you can.You can even do it trough the Mail if you want to.It is a Federal branch and the local offices are just little cubicles.
