A friend of mine recently told about her cousin's little girl, named Olivia, whose nickname is Libby. I think that's adorable, and it would work for Alivia, too.

Both very nice names, IMO.

Well, whether it is a typo or not, baby names can be a canvas for some people (sometimes this is rather unfortunate, though!)

I think that Alivia would be mispronounced often. When I see it, I want to say Ally (yes I know, that's my name! lol) because of the Ali, another spelling of Ally. Therefore, the name could be said like Ali-Vee-A. That makes me think of the medicine Aleve.

I love the name Olivia, but, like you said, it is becoming more and more popular. I say, name your child what you like best! Though it may be another Ashley or Jennifer type of thing, if you truely like the name, it doesn't matter!

Congrats on the baby (I do assume your expecting! If not, well, oh well! lol) and Best Wishes!

I prefer the name spelt Olivia. So what if it's getting popular..it's a really nice name. If you like it..go for it. Don't avoid naming your daughter Olivia just because other people also like the name. Name your daughter what you want to name her. Don't compromise by spelling it with an a. If you don't think Olivia is now suitable for what ever reason, name her something else. I wouldn't put an A on it. It sounds totally different and doesn't look very nice. Good luck! I say Olivia Grace or Olivia Kate or Olivia with an unusual or unique name as a middle name.

Alivia is a nice way to make the name less common. For middle names I'd suggest:

Alivia Analeise
Alivia Claire
Alivia Corinne

Olivia may be popular, but it is a classic name, so I wouldn't mind using it. It's not like those horrible Ayden, Aiden, Jayden, Kayden names that everyone is naming their children. I would think your daughter would constantly be correcting the spelling if you named her Alivia. Stick with Olivia.

Alivia is really nice! Alivia Mae sounds nice, and they're both quite uncommon...

If you want another 'version' of the name Olivia, there's Olive. It's a real name, and I think it's really pretty.

olivia is a beautiful name and at least in our part of the world it is not very common.
alivia.......i think you need to look at your question. your first comment on the name is 'wasn't sure if it was a typo'
you don't want your child to go thru life with people making that same comment time and time again do you?
middle name:
olivia marie
olivia jane
olivia kathleen
olivia rose
picking names can be a lot of fun, don't get too stressed out over it. whatever name you choose will be beautiful just as your little girl will be.
good luck
take good care
cheers
