I need some advise-my office Deskjet is not working. It keeps saying that the cover is open and it has no paper (if one error isn't up it's the other). I have tried trouble shooting it (told me that it wasn't a problem it could assist with), I work with college students and I had one of them look at it and they were stumped, and I have cut it off overnight and come back. No luck with anything. I did run a virus check recently and found 4 viruses that have now been deleted by the virus scan. Any ideas? Should I ask the boss to replace it? I just started on Mon and it hasn't worked since I got here, not sure of the situation prior to that.

Try leaving it UNPLUGGED for an hour. That MAY reset it where simply turning it off did not.
If that doesn't work, talk to your boss.
