Only you know how "amicable" the divorce is. If you feel he is harassing you that can be a good instinct on your part. Are you comfortable enough with the situation to say" I'll mail you copies if you tell me why you want them." (always keep the originals and keep copies stashed away for emergencies) You should base your response on the way he reacts. It's almost like playing "kid's" games, but, when it comes to divorce and CUSTODY, it takes on serious overtones. You are right to be cautious and document "everything". ( Dates, times, where was he calling from, did he sound annoyed, etc.)Look to "Parents Without Partners" in your town. Someone with experience in these matters can help relieve some stress. It could be a totally harmless request by him. It always help to get a second opinion. Do you still communicate with his parents or relatives? Maybe they might know why. Check the court order also, if you have any questions there may be a phone number to call. Bottom line, only you can give up those papers (now) and you every right to know. Good luck!

I understand your concern. I read some other responses to your question (dmckinner) to be exact. obviously does not understand what is like to share custody. I do.
Does your ex have money to run with your children to another country? Hey this has happen on several occasions. Does he want full custody? If so I would seek some legal advice.

i looked back through your questions to get an idea of this situation. ill be frank with you, because your kids are involoved. you need to grow up quite a lot in order to be a good parent. i know youre going to flip the finger at this, but dont, you need to hear it to keep your kids. the issue with your grandpas meds is something that they can come at you with, and very rightly should. your childs life was put in danger because of that situation. a situation you were responsible for. you have a boyfriend that bugs you. honestly, you dont have enough people smarts to pick a man. work on your own self esteem issues so you can get respect from others. this new guy is not someone that anyone with any self respect would pick. get your crap together, find someone who will be a suitable father for your kids. make a stable life for them. you are very much running out of time. act now. grow up. your kids are watching and learning from you.

There are many things that require birth certificates. Travel to another country, enrollment in another school, setting up his will(if he is wanting to start a trust account), or for beneficiaries for his life insurance(?). There can be some to worry about, but I would expect it to be a simple reason. Just ask him.

Ask him why he is wanting them. Also if he wants them bad enough he can go to a local courthouse and get copies of them himself. Make sure you have a good attorney in case he tries going for full custody.

Do not give him these birth certificates or give him copies of them. He has plans to do something with them and is not being honest about what these plans are.

He just wants to get on your nerves.
Birth Certificate are a matter o public record, if he needed them so badly, he would request them himself.
If you tell him you don't have them? will he actually go get them?
