gradually! 3/4 old stuff, 1/4 new stuff, then halfs, and so on. Take about a week for each transition. Be prepared for some strange diapers and upset tummy...that is normal.

Just change it. If your child is having problems with the Enfamil with Iron, then just change it. If he doesn't like it, then consider doing the gradual thing... but the flavor is the only reason you'd need to move gradually. My kids had colic and were lactose intolerant... so I had to try many different formulas before I found the one they could best tolerate. They all three ended up on Isomil liquid concentrate. I didn't do it gradually... just switched 'em over. No problems.
By the way... you didn't say why you're considering the change?? If he's doing okay on what you're using, why switch?

No, no no no no, do not listen to the "gradual" people. Just switch it already. Don't put the baby through anymore drama. Just switch it. My baby had some really serious problems w/her formula's too and i did NOT do the gradual thing because her Pediatrician advised me NOT to do it. She told me just to switch right over. I did and my baby is doing soooooooo much better with the new stuff. I have her on Similac w/Low Iron. My baby couldn't handle all the Iron when she was first born. The second I switched her to Low Iron, she is like a new baby. It was an instant recovery, i'm tellin you. What kinds of problems are you having w/bub? colicky? i feel your pain. I went through the same thing. My baby also has acid reflux and she is on baby zantac and doing soooooooo great! i love being a mommy at this stage because she is really content. she will be 5 months on the 15th. and she giggles, smiles, laughs and plays w/her toys. i'm trying to get her to roll, we're workin on it.

I switch formulas all the time; I use whatever is on sale, and I buy whatever store-brand formula is available at the store I"m at (target, walmart, wherever). Shouldn't be any big deal. By the way, you can cut your formula expenses in half using the store brands. All formulas have to meet the same government standards; my pediatrician as well as many articles in the parenting magazines agree that there is no significant difference in generic formula vs. name brand. Plus, Ive used name brand for one baby (my first of course) and generic for the other six, and guess what--NO DIFFERENCE! Just a thought for you.

When my daughter was a newborn she was on the formula they put the babies on in the hospital and about a month or so later she became fussy and stuff so i got her formula changed and she was okay then. I did not do it gradually. I just changed it. Good luck.

You can change formulas, but do it gradually. Especially if you are going to switch from one brand to another. Going from one with iron to one with low iron maybe OK to switch to right away. It's the same brand name but less iron. BUT I do recommend that you talk to your baby's Dr first, as they may suggest a brand OR wonder why you want to switch. Good luck.

yes u can change it. My daughter was put on the soy stuff and after a while i decided to see if she could tollerate the regular formula and she did just fine. I just half and halfed it until all the soy was gone then just gave her straight formula with iron. Never had a problem. good luck and God Bless.

Yes you can. Just "wean" her off the other formula by mixing the new one with the old one and each time decrease the amount of the old formula until it's just the new one. We had to do this several times with my son over a 6 month period.

I did and I had no problems. I actually started mixing half and half (old and new formula) at first just so that he would get used to it.

I'd ask your baby's doctor. It can really upset their stomach if you just do that. Your doctor would most likely say graduallytho! Best of Luck!
