Yes, I do the same thing and I'm 15 weeks. At first, I claimed it was because I didn't want anyone to know that I'm pregnant. Then I claimed it was because I wasn't showing and I didn't want to be bothered by bartenders/waiters pressuring me to drink. Then I claimed that I was too tired for late nights.
People have started to drag me out, and I have to say, it feels nice to be out among the living. I guess I was sort of in mourning because once the baby comes, I won't be able to go out anymore. The hubby is happy to see me back among the living, even if it is only going to be short-lived.
A word of advice, though. I live in NY, where smoking is not allowed in public places. I would never go anywhere that is indoors where smoking is allowed, out of fear of breathing in secondhand smoke.

I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child. I also feel like staying home all the time and do nothing. This completely normal. My 1st pregnancy was different, I was happy all the time and in a good mood. This time I am in a bad mood most of the time. All pregnancies are different, so just give it some time and you'll come around.

It's totally normal. Being pregnant is difficult especially if you are the only one of your friends. I went through the same thing. It's best to try to get out of the house somewhat (take it from someone who is pregnant and has depression!) But only do those activities that you feel comfortable - even going for a walk outside is fine. Pregnancy is difficult but I keep telling myself it will be worth it (I hope!)
anyway, what you're feeling is normal and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

If you feel that you can't go out because you'll drink or smoke? then that's a problem!
but, if you don't feel like going out because you're tired .. then that's completely normal!
I was that same way the first 3 months of my pregnancy. I'd go to work and go home .. not enough energy to do much else! that's normal.
But you'll start feeling better by your 2nd trimester (13 weeks and on).
Good luck! God bless!

you still need to get out and do things. It is not good to stay in the house all the time. You dont have to drink or smoke when you go out. You can just go out with the girls and talk and have fun discussing the baby and stuff.

I dont know if it normal honey but I understand where you going with it. You want whats best for your baby, right? It is a good thing to take care of your baby but you have to make sure your not getting depressed. I would talk to you OB about it at your next visit just to be sure. Good Luck and God Bless

ok, so you don't want to go out knowing that's not a good environment for you right now. but what about having visitors or going shopping with friends? if these activities also are not appealing then maybe you are depressed-that could be a problem. talk to your best friend or your mom or doctor or nurse. someone who knows you and can see any major changes firsthand could help you more than us. good luck

It's normal, but not necesarily healthy. I agree you should avoid smoking and drinking, but women who isolate themselves are more likely to suffer postpartum depression. You should inform your doctor about your feelings. I would also have family help me watch for signs of postpartum because women often do not recognise it in themselves. I hope you don't have any problems, and you may be just fine. It's just something to watch out for. Many women are just plain tired. Good Luck............
P.S. Couldn't help but notice your name, hope you are planning on doing what's best for you and your baby before and after pregnancy.
