That is, does my username have positive effects on whether my answer is chosen as BA, and my questions are answered, or does it have negative effects, or neither?

I ask because I was wondering if deliberately calling myself "weird" was wise.

Depends on the idiot who is either over thinking it, adamantly against it or the chuckle head that thinks it's all too funny that you don't think very highly of yourself.

When you put yourself out there... be prepared to get feedback and don't be disappointed when it is not what you expected or wanted to hear.

Basically, it is your choice of user name. Not what I might pick for myself but then again, what should you care what I think of your user name (Unless you ask me for my opinion first.) as I certainly don't care what you think of mine, if I haven't first, asked you for your opinion of it. It's None of your business and therefore having not been invited to share what you think... I would negate it and disregard it in general if you offered me your opinion of it anyway.

Most people can't read or understand Latin, so I'm good.

That is actually how it should be...

I think it's inconsequential. And it's cute and clever!! Don't worry about points though. You can learn so much if you read the other answers, the Best Answers section, and vote on the Undecided Questions. There is so much you can learn, that make the points just silly really!!

I've never once looked at someones name to decide if i like their answer or not. I look at their answer and whether I think it's a good answer to the question or not. So i'd say it's inconsequential.

If someone wouldn't pick your answer as BA because of your name, then that's stupid. It should be because of your answer (although to be fair, people seem to pick such stupid answers as BA, I've given up trying to explain it.)

Well, "weird" makes one wonder how you are weird, but I say inconsequential. Nevertheless, I doubt if people choose 'best answer' based on user names, more than likely it is because of the content of the answer. At least I hope so.

I only look at the questions to decide if I want to answer. I don't even pay attention to the names

I like your user name. Made me stop and look at your profile. I think it stands out. I don't think it will make people look at your questions or answers any difrently. I think people may look twice thinking they may get some oddball answer, intrigue.
