Could be many things, change in hormones, stress, diet, medication, or.......early pregnancy. If you are concerned about pregnancy take a test. If she's not pregnant I wouldn't worry unless she starts having other problems.

Scientist know now that over eating meats from fast foods (lipids and fats from animals that have had hormone injections) have given longer periods to women.

But if inquiring of drugs I don't trust those and would try instead the natural route. Birth control promising this be ridiculous and heightens blood pressure and can give you a heart attack beware!!

Avoid fast foods for now and some Eat some fruits then see if they are shorter. Also get some de-wormer many say after doing an herbal cleanse their weight dropped and also periods got shorter. Go on all all fruit diet for a few weeks and notice a difference.

Nothing will produce a light short period like avoiding fast foods (and theres nothing normal about a long period). But shortening with drugs be very dangerous so please try some fruits.
