By turning 16 opens up alot of choices that you can make by yourself........
1.Getting you drivers license
2.Moving out on your own(Independent living)
3.You can date who you want even if they are 18+ which I don't recommend but if you do they can't get in trouble for it.
4.You can consent to things legally(make your own choices)

You're turning into a woman or you're half way there. It's a good thing to celebrate, you never get to be 16 again! I remember things I did when I was 16. I got to get my permit and start drving an actual vehicle! I also loved this one song, "she's just 16 years old, leave her alone she says...separated by fools...who don't know what love is yet". It didn't really apply to me, but I liked the fact that it was about 16 year olds and that was what I was turning! Good luck and enjoy your birthday! I didn't have a sweet 16 but I still had fun!

A sweet sixteen is a traditional birthday party for girls and sometimes boys to have when they turn sixteen years old. In parts of the United States and Canada, sixteen is the age at which one may obtain a driver's license. It is also the age of consent in many states, hence it is viewed by many adolescents as an important milestone. It's the American counterpart of the Spanish and Latin American tradition of a Quinceañera, with both parties having the same sense but in Spanish-speaking countries it is at the 15th birthday.
The term can also be derived to mean turning 16 without having been kissed.

In many cultures turning 16 represents adulthood. It's a celebrating of you becoming an adult. It's also the age that you can drive. It's the first age that you can do something legal like drive, and when you turn 18 you can buy tobacco produces and when you turn 21 you can drink...I'm not saying that being 18 and 21 is great because its' not but...turning 16 is just becoming an adult.

For the adult men, they only goof off out it, no longer fairly a super deal for them. For some ladies, that's a time for partying. For different ladies, it symbolizes something specific for them, utilising, a refreshed sense of independence, etc. that's in simple terms interesting. to no longer point out that there is dozens of love thoughts that ensue while a woman turns sixteen, that's a super element real there.

Nothing is special about turning 16. I never understood teen girls turning 16. It seems dumb to me to get all worked up over one little age. Maybe because most 16 year olds get cars.

It's about the height of adolescence. For girls, it's about as tall and developed as they're going to be. For boys, they usually start shaving then (there's hair everywhere!) and their muscles are fully developed. It's about as much child-adult as you can be, not just the beginning like at puberty, but right in the middle. You can get a driver's license (and send your family's car insurance rates through the roof!), you get more trust and are treated more like an adult. You can get a serious job, you have to start planning for college. Tell me that isn't all sweet.

I have no clue, I'll be there in 5 months. So I'll let you know if it is so special lol So far none of my birthdays have been anything spectacular. So I get to drive, doesn't mean I will get my licence, so it means I can date, doesn't mean I will date.
Happy Birthday by the way!! =D Hope you have a great one ^_^
