I don't know about water, but usually there are laws that they can't turn off your heat during the winter.

Tell her to go to a church or a women's center or even a community charity (here in the US there is United Way - I'm sure there is an equivilant in Canada). There will be someone at one of those places who can either help her with a loan or one-time support check, or they may be able to help her negotiate with her utility companies.

You are unlikely to find anyone here willing to give money away like that. I'm sorry, but that is the way the world works.

Good luck and all my best to you and your wife.

She needs to contact social services and see what other government help there is for her.

I don't think they can turn off heat and water in the winter months.

Also, she should contact them and see if she can make arrangements for reduced or deferred payments for a while and not just ignore the bills. If she contacts them and makes some sort of payments they might be more willing to give her some slack.

first of all, i am a little confused,,,, do you also live in Canada, with your wife? from the way you stated it, it sounded like you were someplace else......
anyway, have her contact a local church,,,, and also the electric and heat company,,,, most often they will work something out with you, especially in wintertime

You're asking strangers for money...Asking them to trust you...that's rich....Nice try!
