Troy was overrated in the first place and the BCS just uncovered a lot of peoples eyes. He is an average QB yea he won the Heisman but the best player doesn't always win he was absolutely murdered in the most important game of his carrier if he had just had a average game he would have went in the late first or early second round but no he had to go and gen knocked around by an defense that was average and get sacked over and over again that just deleted all of what he tried to accomplished that season even beaten Michigan which was a better game anyway.

Troy Smith is actually not that good, he has accuracy, but then look at his recievers that he was throwing to. Ted Ginn Jr might be a top 10 pick, and Anthony Gonzalaz is prob a second round pick, and the runningback from Ohio State Antonio Pittman, also probably a second round. This shows that it wasn't because of Troy Smith that the team was good, besides Troy Smith is too short for playing quarterback according to scouts (even though i believe it's not true, since Vick, and Brees are still around)

What, might drop to the second. Even before the draft, Smith was a 2nd-3rd round pick. Now I dont know if you watched the NFL Combine, but I did, and Smith was terrible. All of the scouts were writing him off. I project Smith to go between 4th-6th rounds. By the way the Heisman doesnt mean anything about success in the pros.

Smith will probably be a 3rd round pick. I think a little too much is being made of his height, but thats the way it is. If he goes into the right situation, he'd be alright. People say he's overrated and I agree with that to an extent. But I felt and still feel that the great Matt Leinhart was/is overrated. He was/is a slightly above average quarterback who was/is surrounded by extrodinary talent. At USC, he had Bush, White, Jarrett, on and on and on. In Arizona, he has James, Fitzgerald, Boldin, etc. Troy Smith had Pittman, Gonzales, Ginn, etc. If he goes to a team that's exceptionally talented at the offensive skill positions, he could be a starter in 2-3 years.

Winning the Heisman doesn't mean squat when going into the NFL, just ask Ty Detmer, Gino Torretta, Charlie Ward, Rashaan Salaam, Ron Dayne, Chris Weinke and the list goes on. You probably heard second day not second round. If you ask me Troy Smith will probably go to a team like Chiefs, Raiders, Bears, Browns. And that's to be a backup!
Yes Troy was a great player in college, but we'll have to see how he transfers that into the NFL. Troy actually reminds me a little bit of Marcus Vick.
projected round: early 4th - late 5th

Dude, Troy Smith is WAY overrated. Might drop to the second? Ha! Smith would be LUCKY to go in the second! The guy is a fourth to sixth round project. He's short, inaccurate, his throws flutter, and he can't play without Ted Ginn. The Heisman means absolutely nothing.

The Heisman award is not the NFL best potential award... look at Jason White... Troy Smith is not an NFL style QB like Russel or Quinn.

He has been uncovered as an ordinary QB (impressive athlete) yet replace into the beneficiary of stunning skills around him at OSU. length isnt his in basic terms subject, the character problems that dogged him early at OSU (he practically have been given kicked off the team) have reappeared and now the scouts are taking off to think of Maurice Clarett another time. I doubt any team perspectives him as ability starter textile yet somebody could take a flyer on him extra as a cut down style participant (Raiders? they dont ideas undesirable apples). the two way he has harm his possibilities of being a accepted day %. yet i might agree he ought to bypass interior the third around yet lots extra in all probability the 4th.

Just because you are a great college quarterback does not automatically mean you will be a great pro quarterback. It is a whole new ballgame in the bigs.
