I don't know anything about roaches. But I know when somebody needs company in their misery. I think thats really disgusting,. I have heard they can get really big, too.
My guess is if you have them so do your neighbors... or they did and they can't get in anymore so now they are trying to live with you! Try getting to know your new neighbors by asking them for their secret! who knows!
You sound like a very clean person....shocked, but clean!!
good luck, Suzie

They aren't disgusting they are an exquisite species. If a Nuclear bomb cant kill em what make you think you can. Just Kid-dding.
I use three different types of roach bombs make sure that they each have a different active Ingredient and let them all off a week after each other.. Put down a Bait during the week following the First Bomb .

(Borax), it's a powder that comes in a squeeze container. Where the wall meets the floor, apply this around the perimeter to where roaches gather. It's an oderless, dry chemical that clings to the roaches' legs and antenne and then, is brought back to the nest and is consumed indirectly by the cleaning of their antenne because the cockroach needs to keep these clean in order to find food and sense danger through vibration.

Call Terminix & have them do what they are best at doing. I called them when I moved south, because down here, the cockroaches are so big they need a saddle. (Palmetto breed) The first initial housecall cost me $75 & thereafter, the periodical visits cost $60. The pro will go through the inside of your home & the outside of your home the first time. The next day, you'll be able to sweep up the dead cockroaches & other insects that you may have. If you don't have anymore cockroach sightings, the Terminix guy will take care of just the outside of your home on his next visit. They will come periodically to spray & dust, if you so choose, which is a smart idea.

Sometimes you can't do it yourself. You need someone that has experience with this. I advise that you get a professional person for this. Look them up in the directory and see if you can get a good cheap price.
