I live in New York City, and it's amazing. There's so much diversity and each neighborhood has a different personality. There is every type of food in nyc. Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and exotic Thai, Malay, Turkish, Russian, Indian, French, to name just a few. It's a really safe city...even though it's stereotyped to be dangerous...there are cops everywhere. lol. The best part is that when you walk into a different neighborhood, or even in a different borough, and find yourself lost, you don't get panicky and nerve-wracked - it is home. If you want an international city in which you can meet new, different people, ride on the intricate subway system, and be dazzled by a city, especially by the light of the night, go to New York!!

Both are great places and have their ups and their downs, I live in London, and would really like to visit NY.. Don't know if I could bear to live there though.. I hear most of the people there are loud and rude.. But I suppose you get that anywhere..
BTW- Roc, you can say EXACTLY the same thing about London.

It makes sense to expect people from America to vote living in America and British people to want to live there, but, as much as I despise New York, I wouldn't survive a day overseas. I watch 'Take Home Chef' for ten minutes and get a headache trying to understand the accent.

I consider London my home away from home, but I could never live there, considering the cost-of-living. NYC is also horribly expensive for the average person, however. Both are great cities, well worth visiting regularly, but for "living" I'd pick someplace well outside either one.

Two fantastic cities, both in my top 10 of world cities. I think I'd go with London. I give it the edge for being so close to Amsterdam and Paris.

New Jersey is close enough to living in New York, other than Manhattan it's like freaking Beirut!
