physically abused by his father, he lives in perth and i live in queensland (australia) and we talk on msn all the time, we really like eachother, but neither of us have enough money to see eachother just yet. anywho, so he's getting abused by his father and he's said that he's tried to commit suicide before and would try again if his father is to keep it up. i feel the strong need to help him, but what can i really do when we live a fair distance away from eachother? i need some ideas on how to deal with this delicate situation, i fear that he's going to give up soon and kill himself, so
please, what should i do?

let him know how much you care and find some professional counseling in Perth, and refer him to them... let him know that if he kills himself that his dad has won... don't let him give up, and let him know that you won't give up on him... just love him and pray for him...
try these...

Deep breaths. This is one of those situations where you can't really make his life better. Only he can do that. You need to encourage him to get help. Ask him to call someone, or let the authorities know. He can't really deal with this himself. He needs someone to step in, and unfortunately, it can't be you. You are too far away, and you aren't trained to deal with his problems. Stay his friend. Listen to him when he talks, and keep suggesting he get help from social services.
The other thing to be aware of is that he might not be completely honest with you. You haven't met him. We all try and emboss our lives to make us seem more interesting than we actually are, and we do this even more on the internet. Don't do anything stupid like send him money to help him out or buy him a ticket to come visit you. The truth is, you're taking his word when you haven't even met him. You need to guard yourself and your heart, too.
Good luck!

The boy needs to report his father, until he does no one will do anything... intervention is needed here and he must promote it.
If he is scared, tell him to go and see a counselor at school and get them to help him.....
this is his fight, your hands are tied.
I would try to encourage him to be brave and take a stand and do what is right, as his father may try this abuse on someone else.
He could stop it from happening again. Build up his confidence and give him hope of this abuse stopping once he acts on it.......

He needs to seek counseling at school or a church right away or check himself into a mental health hospital to get help and get out of the situation or call the police and have is father arrested and seek safe shelter somewhere so his father cannot find him.

He should try to stop his father's hands. He can see another apartment for himself. Go for counselling. At last he can take help of the Police.

If you haven't seen any of this first hand and only over IM you are not in the place to say or do anything. Go visit him, see whats up? Call the police? Not much you can do.

There are websites that you can look up on how to help someone who is being abused. Im not really sure what else to tell you because I dont know myself...but keep talking the guy and tell him positive things to help boost his selfesteem and confidince...if possible try to convince him to go seek help, and other than that...PRAY...I will be praying too.

First of all you dont even know if this story is real. What if he's using it to make you feel sorry for him and go looking for him or to have you send money to him so that he can come to you to harm you!
Try calling a TV show. Here in our city we have a "Cheaters" show. You call them and they "follow" your significant other if you suspect he's cheating on you. BUT, in your case, call a talk show and ask them to help you investigate if this case is real. If it is, im sure they'll know who to contact to stop the abuse. Good luck!

Tell your parents that you know that guy is getting abused. OIf they're good parents they'll believe you. If not just keep whining or just escape from your house. See if he is look in the windows then call the police.
