You know, of course, that if the answer is NONE, then the American army (the "British" in your hypothetical) would be allowed to use the British methods - bombing and burning cities, rounding up the natives, declaring martial law, etc.
The biggest difference is that Iraq is already an independent country, and the insurgents are trying to seize control of the country and impose a theocracy.
That and the size of the blade used to behead civilians.

The insurgents in Iraq don't all live in Iraq. They are not fighting for a country, but rather for a religion and against freedom.

I'll use twisted, fictitious American history to show the difference:
American Civil War: The North invades the South and decapitates its government. The slaves and slave masters begin fighting. The Yankee troops move in to quell the violence, inadvertently taking the slave masters side in the name of peace. Native Americans begin aiding the slaves with warriors and weapons.....
Big mess, no? The difference between this and our founding fathers: founding fathers fought for independence, not revenge.

practise is powerful, because of the fact it teaches you the thank you to income, the thank you to self-discipline your recommendations. understanding for a Christian is understanding the be conscious, understanding your God, His nature, His will, His outlook on issues. expertise is observing issues from God's perspective and putting them into action. understanding is great, yet too lots of it may puff you up in case you do no longer counteract it with fruit of the Spirit. Ever understand a individual who's very knowledgeable, yet has no temperance and no love? Their understanding is basically approximately ineffective in the long-term. yet expertise? you detect that and your soul shall stay, because of the fact once you detect expertise, you detect the way God Himself seems at a situation. Proverbs 3: via expertise the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, via information he set the heavens in place; via his understanding the watery depths have been divided, and the clouds enable drop the dew.

Sometimes we target civilian houses and gatherings to kill just one person of interest. We end up killing many innocent civilians and we know that will happen beforehand. Please don't make us into civilized people and the insurgents as non-civilized. We both us extreme tactics to get what we want.
There is no difference in insurgents and the founding fathers. They both targeted civilian and military people and buildings.
