We live in Long Island and we recently cut down 3 50 foot maples and oaks. We now have sunlight but no privacy at the back fenceline. What are the best privacy trees and how big do they get?

You may want to consider a hedge instead of trees. They typically are not as tall, but still give you privacy. It sounds like you like the sunshine.

bare b has some great trees there how ever some of them loose their leaves in the winter.you might want to pick a low growing evergreen,like a juniper.plant close then thin to the height and thickness you want.they make gin from the juniper berries so that is one i like..
