Don't worry. At this stage, your not going to feel your baby moving all the time, especially since it's your first. Remember, the baby is still quite tiny. They only tell you start tracking your baby's movement at around 26-28 weeks, which is normally when your baby's movements become quite regular.
It's normal to feel mild cramping and back pain since your body is slowly expanding to accommodate your growing baby. If the cramping becomes worse or if you start to have spotting, definitely call your doctor.
Otherwise, you have nothing to worry about.

I'm 22 weeks pregnant .. my baby is a consistant kicker too! but sometimes he'll skip a day .. the best way to get to feel the kicks is to drink some water or de-caf coffee! fill up your bladder! then there is less space in there and you can feel your little peanut bouncing! (I've done this a few times :)
And as for the menstrual cramps .. I had those yesterday! its just the expansion of your uterus. I get them about once a week ... sometimes more.
The cramping is perfectly normal (as long as it's not severe and there is NO blood) and you shouldn't worry. There's a lot going on in that tummy of yours .. its going to hurt once in a while :)
good luck! God bless!

i think it is normal... all the way up to about 28 weeks my baby felt like he stopped moving for days.. and he would go by spells and do it often and i would get very worried but now im 35 weeks and i can feel every little movement he makes, since hes so big... im sure everything is fine.. go into a room that doesnt have any bright lights or anything and lay on your back in silence and poke your belly very lightly a few times and just lay there for about 10 minutes and see if anything happens, also drink something cold that has sugar in it before you lay down..... you could call your doctor also if you wanted just to make sure. hope you have a great pregnancy and healthy baby..

Anytime you are curious about something, you should call your doctor. They can offer suggestions on things you can do to possibly get the baby to move, or have you come in for a test.
Just keep in mind, 20 weeks is still early, it is pretty normal for this to happen. I would poke at my stomach any time I was nervous, after a couple minutes, they would usually kick back! Good luck!

It is probablaly nothing, I am 21 weeks with twins and still go a day at a time without feeling them move. Sometimes they are moving and are just still so small you might not always feel it, now that I said that, call your doctor, that is what he/she is there for. Talk to the nurse, she can help ease your mind. If you ever question if you should call your doctor or not, do it. That is always my advice. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck

It could be just sleeping. Remember your kid has a lot of growing to do!
To wake it up, try drinking a glass of orange juice and lying down. The sugar rush should get those kicks going. If nothing happens after a few hours, then definitely call your doctor.

Babies usually don't settle into a regular pattern of movement until around 27 weeks, I think.
However, if you have ANY doubts, it's worth it to check w/your doc. If your intuition is saying something is wrong, don't take no for an answer!

Eat something sweet and sit down quietly. This usually gets them moving.
