I can thoroughly recommend www.penaltycharges.co.uk . This site is full of lovely people from all walks of life who between them have a wealth of inf formation and experience about reclaiming bank charges. They also help with late payment charges for everything else from catalogues to mobile phones. You can claim back for 6 years charges. Here you are guided every step of the way and it's absolutely free. I just received a cheque for £3,468.95p from my bank. It was a lot easier than I imagined because so many really friendly people on Penalty Charges nursed me all the way. Go for it my dear. The money is yours. The banks are acting unlawfuly in levying high charges for bouncing d.d.'s , cheques , paid items etc because the law says they cannot charge the customer more than it costs them to administer an action. So for example:- You don't have enough money in your account for a direct debit. £35 charge. Real cost to bank, max.£4.50.= unlawful profiteering.

Od you should ask, as I was ina cafe yesterday and a man started talking to me abut this very thing...He had worked out tat he had been charged £4000 in charges over the past 6 years, and he managed to claim a load of it back by visiting this site: www.moneysavingexpert.com , also look up Govan law Centre on google and copy off the letters and send them to your bank.
But, firstly you should ask your bank to send you details of all your charges for the past few years. I think it is all explained on these websites anyway...I'm definately going to do it...good luck!
