You've gotta be joking, is it for decoration? No.
The moon is called a natural satellite because it is not man-made and it revolves around the earth. Anything that revolves in orbit is a satellite of the object it revolves around.
The gravity of the moon affects the ocean tides on earth. Without the moon, there would be no high/low tides. The moon also affects many of our natural internal cycles. In women, it helps to regulate their menstrual cycle. The moon also provides light at night by reflecting the light of the sun.

You cannot be serious about blasting it off.....NASA won't because it simply a waste of resources for no practical reason. Its not for decoration only, it controls the natural tides of the oceans on Earth for one thing and its about the only place that a human has walked on besides Earth. Its called a natural satellite as it is not man-made and it is orbiting around Earth.

Everything in this solar system has a purpose. That is why they ahve been rotating around each other. If the purposenis finished they get pulled to each other and get destroyed.
The mutual gravitational force ebtween monn and earth is keeping earth in its orbit. If Moon is destroyed, the earth will go out of its orbit around the sun and either it will get pulled towards the sun or wiwander into the limitless space.

NASA wont use it firstly because the ownership of the Moon is an issue that has never been solved, secondly it is not at all cost effective to move everything they need up to the moon, and any disruption of the moon will disrupt all the cycles of the oceans and seas-there would be tsunamis, flooding worldwide.

It is called a natural satellite. It has no purpose, but it has many functions.
Namely, it regulates tides, stabilizes our length of day. It also shields us from meteros that might otherwise collide with the Earth.
